“That was mean ok???.... Hahahaha! You’re mean!! MEAAN! You shouldn’t have laughed!” Zaina hit Yousef’s arm, not so hard and not lightly “There’s nothing wrong with thinking guys read books, reading is good!! And no watching the movie doesn’t count, nothing beats reading the book….”

Yousef turned around and stood infront of Zaina and looked down into her eyes “Nothing beats this….” Zaina avoided any eye contact “whats this??” He held her chin and lifted her head up but she still wouldn’t look at him “Look at me…. Zaina look at me, 6al3eeni..”

Zaina’s heart was racing. It was beating a millions time per second. She didn’t recognize this feeling. It was new, unfamiliar, scary yet exciting and exhilarating. She tried so hard not to look up at Yousef but she couldn’t stop herself “This…me & you, here, together….. this…”

--------------

Zaina looked into Yousef’s eyes and felt a bizarre connection. Their connection & chemistry was causing a different kind of fireworks to fill the atmosphere. They were looking deep into each other’s eyes. As if they wanted to explore each other, look into each other’s souls, read and understand one another.

Zaina’s face was turning into every shade of red and Yousef enjoyed it knowing he was causing her to blush and feel the same way he has been feeling for quite a while. The moment seemed like it was lasting forever. It felt like time had stopped. Everything around them stopped moving, breathing & living and it was just the two of them, in that spot. No one else existed. Yousef couldn’t take his eyes off her.

He shuffled forward, it was less than half a step but was enough for him to minimize the space between them. Yousef wanted to do it. He wanted to completely close the gap between them and plant his lips onto hers creating the most magical kiss on earth but he was waiting for that look in Zaina’s eye to know that she wants it as much as he does. He didn’t want to rush into it and ruin everything he was tried to establish. He didn’t want to scare her away. He didn’t want to loose her because of one moment where he couldn’t pull himself together.

Yousef gave her a soft, warm smile that he could immediately see was easing the tension that was building up in Zaina’s muscles. She smiled back automatically as soon as she saw the warmth radiating from his eyes. Zaina felt a bit more relaxed and realized that she was holding her breath the whole time. She slowly took a deep breath and quickly turned around to look over the rails at the beautiful scene that they were admiring a few seconds ago.

She couldn’t see Yousef’s face but she could still feel him still standing very very close to her. He didn’t move one inch, he was close enough that Zaina could feel his breath on her neck and boy was it an intoxicating feeling. And unexpectedly, she heard the most masculine yet gentle voice she has ever heard whispering a few alluring words…

Mako a7ad bl denya methlch ya Zaina…

The night ended on a smooth note and neither of them expected to enjoy themselves as much as they did. It wasn’t awkward or uncomfortable between after that incident. On the contrary, they both felt at ease and happy. It wasn’t planned for but it set a particular mood for the rest of the night. They kept on laughing, joking and shared stories at they look a long walk to nowhere in particular. They shared glances and Zaina blushed everytime Yousef complimented her.

Neither of them said it, but they both felt it. There was this connection that neither one could deny. Any passer by would be able to see it in their eyes. It was an unspoken bond. But it was something neither one of them is ready to admit or take to a different level. For now, they were settling and accepting that they are cousins, friends and maybe even colleagues.

Later that night, Yousef was sitting in the living room. The tv was on and the his cup of tea was only half full. His mother walked in but he didn’t notice his presence until she tapped him on his shoulder “Yousef! Shfek chthe sar7aaaan? Wain w9alt? mno ili sha’3el balek chthe?

Yousef got up and kissed the crown of his mother’s head “ee7mm.. Halaa Yuma halaa. Mako shay, ma7ad sha’3el baly laish? 5air? B’3aitay shay?” He knew very well his mother will not believe him but he still had to try and get away with it “Kil hatha w ma7ad sha’3el balek? Goolyy, sh3ndk ga3ed ihne laima hal 7aza w mu 7as bely y9er 7awalaik?

“La Yuma mako shay, bs afaker bl shu’3l w qathaya ili 3nde w shlon a7elha, la akthar wla aqal” He smiled trying to hide the real reason behind what he was thinking about “Ya 5oofy fe shay ‘3air ildawam… gooly itha fe shay, ana oomek lat5esh 3laiy! Akeed shft wa7da 3jbtek 9a7??

Yousef couldn’t help but laugh. It was true when they say that mothers knows about everything that her kids want or think about “La ya Yuma, lat7ateeen, inshala itha nwait atzawaj intay awal wa7da ra7 t3arfen w ra7 agoolch ta56benha bl wakt ilmunasb..”

“Ha ywaiiseef, chna afham mn kalameekk ina fe wa7da bs na6r ilwakt ilmonaseb! Mno ehya gool 5al a56eblk ilbent w 5al nfra7 feeek!” His mother was thrilled at the thought of a wedding and her son getting married “Hahahaha 6awlay balech ya yuma, mako wa7da 7a6 3ainy 3laihaa te6amenay… 6awlay balech, muta ma 9ar ilwakt ilmunasb inshala ra7 atzawaj...w ana mt2kd ina ra7 et7benha mthel ana a7ebha… He kissed the crown of her head again before leaving to his room “…te9b7en 3ala 5air yal ‘3alyaa

Yousef made his way upstairs and got ready for bed. It was getting very late and he had to wake up early int he morning to wake it on time at the court. Before jumping into bed he grabbed his blackberry to set his alarm only to notice one BBM notification. He scrolled down to open it and to his surprise it was a text from…..

P.S.S. keep the comments coming :( wain ra7aw??

Previously:
Yousef was scared of speaking or as a matter of fact, he was scared of moving. He didn’t want Zaina to take her hand away. He loved the feeling and he wanted it to go on forever but he had to say something or else the situation might suddenly become awkward. “Im glad I did, im always here for time like these if you need me… you know that right??” Yousef looked Zaina in the eye to make sure she knows he means it but slowly turned is hand over, held the tip o f her fingers and gently rubbed them as if assuring her he will never leave her.

He could tell Zaina liked it but was surprised at his action. She was speechless and amused at his gesture. Yousef could see her cheeks turning red and he loved that he had that affect on her. All Zaina could do was nod her head and look down and with that he pulled his hand away and sat back in her chair. “Zaina….”

“Yeah….” Zaina lifted her head up to look at him and she just couldn’t believe what she saw the second she looked up.

--------------------

Zaina’s mouth opened in awe while her eyes literally sparkled and shined. Her eyes had a reflection of colors, blue, green, red and yellow. Yousef didn’t know what was going on. He immediately turned around to see what had grabbed her attention and he himself couldn’t believe it. It was too early in the year but there were fireworks in the distance.

They couldn’t hear anything but who wanted to hear the noise from the fireworks when they can see the sky transforming into a canvas of bright, beautiful colors. Zaina slowly got out of her seat & walked towards the rails that were over looking the sea. She just stood there with a grin on her face looking at the dancing sparkles.

Yousef stayed in his seat as he admired the scene before him. There was nothing better than looking at the fireworks and at Zaina at the same time. It couldn’t get any better. The excitement in Zaina’s posture & eyes was indescribable. It reminded Yousef of a little kid. He loved how Zaina had a pure heart. He couldn’t imagine a different kind of Zaina.

The fireworks had stopped but Zaina was still standing there admiring the scene. There was a velvet rose in a small vase on the table. Yousef picked it up, stood up & walked over to where Zaina was standing. He held the rose infront of here face. Zaina shrieked obviously not expecting him to sneak up on her like that.

“You scared me! Wsh tha? Whats the flower for?” Zaina was smiling, she was delighted and surprised at his gesture. “A beautiful flower, for a beautiful lady.” Yousef was leaning over on the rail but also facing Zaina. He wanted to look at those gorgeous eyes. Zaina closed her eyes as she took in the scent of the fragrant flower “I’m going to keep this. I’m going to put it inside my favorite book

Yousef was on top of the world! What does this mean? Could it possibly mean she’s developing feelings for me? Could she really beginning to sense that I really care about her?…and what book is that??” Yousef wanted to learn more about her.

“Its my all time favorite… Pride & Prejudice… I can never get enough of it” Zaina zoned out for about a second as she thought about scenes from the book. “Of course you have no clew what that book is right??” Zaina gave Yousef a slight bump on his shoulders “What makes you think I don’t know what Pride & Prejudice is!!” Zaina turned around and rested her back on the rails as Yousef remained in the same position “hmmmm… well I’ve never heard of any guy that likes books, especially not books like these.

“Well, I might not be one of those stereotypical types, we’re not all like that!” Zaina spun her head to look at Yousef. She wanted to see if he really meant what he said or if he was just goofing around. “Waiiiitt… 9edg?? Ya3ne you’ve read the book?” Yousef suddenly started laughing, he was laughing so hard that Zaina felt like an idiot for a second. “AIIISSSH?? WSSSH FEEK T’TH7AAAK KETHAA!”

Yousef immedietly stopped laughing. His eyes were still watery from laughing but he managed to pull himself together. “The look on your face was priceless!! Why were you so surprised like that?? Ok I have to admit, I didn’t read the book but I know what Pride & Prejudice is! I’ve seen the movie so it still counts! Aanndd… I watched the movie willingly!” Yousef turned around and rested his back on the rails as well “You know even us guys look for a few good romance movies every now & then….”

“That was mean ok???.... Hahahaha! You’re mean!! MEAAN! You shouldn’t have laughed!” Zaina hit Yousef’s arm, not so hard and not lightly “There’s nothing wrong with thinking guys read books, reading is good!! And no watching the movie doesn’t count, nothing beats reading the book….

Yousef turned around and stood infront of Zaina and looked down into her eyes “Nothing beats this….” Zaina avoided any eye contact “whats this??” He held her chin and lifted her head up but she still wouldn’t look at him “Look at me…. Zaina look at me, 6al3eeni..

Zaina’s heart was racing. It was beating a millions time per second. She didn’t recognize this feeling. It was new, unfamiliar, scary yet exciting and exhilarating. She tried so hard not to look up at Yousef but she couldn’t stop herself “This…me & you, here, together….. this…

He grabbed his Blackberry and started reading the chats he hasn't opened. There was nothing important. Just a bunch of broadcasts, so he switched to twitter and began reading through his timeline. Looking for any important news or updates. After about 15 minutes he just couldn't distract himself any longer. He wanted to talk to her. He wanted to spend the rest of the time staring at the screen and chatting with Zaina. He wanted to see her screen name because her name alone would make his heart skip a beat every time.

Yousef: Hey, r u still up?
Zaina: Hii, yeah i am, whats up?
Yousef: I don't mean to be so forward, but can i ask you a question?…
Zaina: Of course u can..what it is?
   Yousef: ummm… well...

Yousef: Why did you stop dancing?
Zaina: No specific reason, maybe I just grew out of it
Yousef: Not convinced ;p No one can grow out of that sort of talent
Zaina: I wouldn’t call it talent Yousef, it was just a hobby and classes my mom put me in, nothing special.
Yousef: I have never seen you glowing as much as today, I couldn’t help but say this you are the most talented dancer I have ever seen. You shouldn’t waste such talent.
Yousef: But anyways…. About that date... ;p
Zaina: are you trying to push my buttons :@ tara walla a5lek tajles el7alek eb hal ‘date’ its NOT a date! ;p
Yousef: Fiiinee, if you say sooo! Whatever helps you sleep at night ;p
Zaina: lool! How about Tuesday? At 8?
Yousef: Perfectoo senora! Pick a place and will see you there on Tuesday!

Thursday came along and both Yousef & Zaina were swamped with work but they still managed to both make it on time for their “date”. Zaina picked a quiet coffee shop. Most of the people there would usually be studying or working. Yousef didn’t mind, to him it meant he would get Zaina’s undivided attention.

They made their way to the place separately but managed to be there withing 5 minutes of each other. Zaina arrived first so she took the privilege to get a table and order water for the both of them. She contemplated whether or not she should order him coffee but she wasn’t sure what Yousef drinks and so decided to wait.

They spent the whole time laughing and catching up on lost time. Yousef would talk about his wild teenage years with his friends and Zaina would laugh so hard that she couldn’t catch her breath. With every new story Zaina learnt something new about Yousef and everything felt natural with him. She didn’t even have to try. Yousef brought out the real Zaina.

After 2 hours of none stop laughing Zaina began to beg Yousef to stop with his crazy adventure stories. “Please Yousef… hahahaha.. 5ala9 stop with the stories! I think my abs are rock solid after all this laughing!!” Yousef stopped talking and sat back in his chair while he began to admire her natural beauty and charisma. Her eyes were watery from all the tears that kept forming while they shared the laughter.

How on earth did 5alte deal with your wild side as a teenager?? I feel sorry for what she had to put up with! You must have been a hand full!” Zaina couldn’t help but make that comment. She could imagine him being told off every other day. Zaina had a wild imagination and she couldn’t help but imagine him running away from him mother.

Yeeaahh! But you see, smarty pants, that’s the thing! I never got caught!” Yousef had one of his cheeky smiles on and it grew wider when Zaina suddenly got a shocked ‘That isn’t even possible” look “You’re kidding right??!! I don’t believe you!

No I am not! Wallah!! Shofay the secret was ina  around my friends I was the wild Yousef but at home & with family im the mature Yousef. So they never suspected I would do anything crazy.” Yousef explained himself and Zaina looked at him in disbelief! “No kid can get away with all of that!

Ee bs e7na 3omra ma 2athaina a7ad or actually hurt something or something… we wed crazy but never to an extent that someone would get hurt fa 3shan chthe we never got caught” Yousef felt like a kid again. He remembered the time when adrenaline would over take their body and minds and the fear of getting caught was so exhilarating “It was just the thrill of it that we enjoyed.

Zaina started laughing again as she remembered some of the things he was saying and without realizing Yousef felt a warm soft silky hand resting on his manly strong fingers “Walla you made my month Yousef, mo bs my day. I had a rough week and this just loosened me up!

Yeah….” Zaina lifted her head up to look at him and she just couldn’t believe what she saw the second she looked up.

P.S. excuse any grammer/spelling mistakes didn't proof read it *hands on face*

Previously:
“It doesn’t mean anything. 5al ashoof ilawrag, fe shay tb'3any ashofa al7en? Wla ynfa3 ashofhum bokra lama ma3nde shay?” Zaina was deliberately focusing on the work papers in hope he would forget. She walked over to him as she was speaking and almost got the papers out of his hand that was slightly extended. Just as she closed her fingers on the file, Yousef quickly managed to pull it away and hold it behind his back. Zaina had to take two steps forward because Yousef’s pull was a bit too strong.

Zaina looked up at Yousef only to realize she was a bit too close to him but then again, she was close enough to see how his eyes were gleaming with admiration. She noticed how his lips were curled up into a smile, he was enjoying this, he loved what he saw and wanted answers, he was enjoying her discomfort. His eyes were glowing. For some reason, even though she felt very awkward and didn’t know what to do, the look in his eyes, the way he was looking at her, made her feel special. It made her remember what it was like to dance. Yousef made her feel special....

-----------------------

Zaina took a few steps back to move away from Yousef and ease the tension hat building up inside her. She looked away for a split second and when she looked up again Yousef had moved, he was walking away. He was walking to end of the room . It Zaina a few seconds before she realised what he was walking towards. Yousef was walking the table where the iPod and speaker deck was.

"What are you doing??" Yousef ignored her. Despite the fact the all Zaina could see was his back but she could feel him grinning. Zaina heard the sound of the Click wheel and within seconds the music was blasting through the speakers.

   Will you count me in….
I've been awake for a while now
You've got me feelin like a child now
Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place

Zaina immediately jumped out of he spot and ran towards the iPod and struggled to get a grip of it. She didn't turn the volume down instead pressed the Pause  button to stop the blasting music completely. "What was that for??" She looked at Yousef with wide, shocked eyes. Yousef looked back at her, looked her straight in the eye "…Inspiration" He had the widest grin imaginable plastered to his face. "I don't need any inspiration, there is nothing here. There is no inspiration needed…." She quickly defended herself and looked down as she bit her lower lip and took a few steps so that they have alternated places.

"Where are the papers you needed to give me?" Zaina was still determined to change the subject. Yousef let out a little giggle before extending his arms towards her. Zaina was still avoiding eye contact. She was too scared to look at his eyes. She was scared of how he would make her feel.

She was just about to take them when Yousef did the same thing again and pulled them away. Yousef wanted Zaina to look at him. He wanted to see her eyes. He wanted to see what Zaina was thinking or at least try to know what she was thinking. She was obviously nervous but he wanted to know why. Was it just the subject of dance? Or was it because of his presence? But mostly, Yousef wanted Zaina to notice how his eyes was sparkling. Yousef was hoping that she could feel how this new feeling was taking over his life.

"YOUSEEEFFF!! Aish jales etswe janantny! Give me the papers." Yousef started to laugh at how cute she looked when she gets mad "Coffee? Sometime this week maybe?" Yousef managed to ask as one side of his lips curled up into a smile. Zaina gave him a smile and quickly snatched the papers out of his hands before he could use them against her again "Sure, why not? No one can say no to..coffee"

"Perfect…." Yousef started to walk away but still facing Zaina. He kept walking backwards "We'll call it a date then..." Yousef had the most arrogant but innocent like smile. It may not be possible but at that moment in time, it most certainly was. "Date aisshh?? ma7ad gal in a bkon date! if you call it a date again, you're going to be going to it on your own!" Zaina gave him a scary 'Oh no you didn't look' but to be honest, all she wanted to do was burst out laughing.

Yousef left and was off to meet one of his clients but all he could think about the whole time was what he saw. He would do anything to see Zaina dancing. She looked amazing. No words could describe how his heart started to beat faster and faster when he saw her gliding across the floor.

Later that night, as Yousef laid in bed staring at the ceiling with his right arm resting behind his head. A number of questions kept popping into his. The most frequent one was 'How does Zaina feel?' It was the only question that he couldn't find any sort of answer for.

Yousef: I don't mean to be so forward, but can i ask you a question?…
Zaina: Of course u can..what it is?
   Yousef: ummm… well...

Pearl Chapter 10: Special

I know I took way too long.
I wasn’t exactly busy over the summer
But I didn’t have a clear mind
I couldn’t write because it wouldn’t be my best
I lacked motivation & inspiration because of many things running in my head
I couldn’t write, I was stressing over soo many things!
I was calm and content on the outside
But on the inside, in my head, I was a mess!
And then I started my final year last week
And even before officially starting I was SO stressed
I was going mad
But im back now
with a new post & a new look to the blog
i'll be posting regularly, not daily, but regularly
they might not be as long as you want them to be, it would just take longer to write i longer post.

One more thing, if any of you are dancers you would probably know the moves I have written may not be real dance moves cause they’re not ;p
They’re gymnastics moves
I don’t know much about dance I’m more of a gymnastics person
The moves I’ve mentioned look the same in dance but are maybe called something else
Here is a guide for the moves
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRa57M5VFic
Anwaayyzz here’s the post
ENJOOOYY:***

Previously:
Yousef made his way down to the basement as quietly as possible. He wanted to see what she was doing. Wanted to see what how she engages in her hobbies when no one is around. As he walked down the stairs his smile began to grow wider and wider until it turned into a huge grin. He noticed a bit of background music. He couldn’t tell what the song was but it was very familiar. The closer he got the clearer the song was...

If I should be so bold
I’d ask you to hold my heart in your hand
Tell you from the start how I’ve longed to be your man
But I never said I would
I guess I’m going to miss my chance again

All I ready wanna do is love you
A kind much closer than friends use
But I still can’t say it after all we’ve been through

And all I really want from you is to feel me
As the feeling inside keeps building
And I will find a way to you if it kills me
If it kills me
If it kills me
It might kill me
[If it kills me (Casa Nova Sessions) Jason Mraz]

And he was beyond fascinated by what he saw, mesmerize. He didn’t recognize her, she was a different person. Her face was glowing….

Zaina was beautifully gliding across the floor. She was elegant and graceful. Every move, every skill was executed flawlessly. He has never seen someone dance the way she just did. She moved with ease and bursting energy. Her leaps, jumps, turns and twirls were explicit. She did a series of full turns with her leg in back attitude, followed by a stag jump and split leaps. Zaina danced across the floor to the music before she did an illusion turn and during that move he face was beaming! Her smile was spread across her face from ear to ear. As she threw in a tour jete followed by a split leap she dropped to the floor and was facing the ceiling. She slowly arched her back following the rhythm of the music and you could see energy radiating from her body. She rolled over and pushed her self off the floor doing a toe roll up.

WOOWW!! She is… You’re… wow, you dance beautifully! I never knew you danced! Not that I should… But I mean…thaaat was exquisite!” Zaina jumped out of her seat at the sound of his voice. She didn’t know he was there, or as a matter of fact, that anyone was there. She paused the videotape she was watching and turned around to look at him. Her face was shocked and red. Red from embarrassment and shocked at the fact that someone actually saw that. She tucked her hair behind her ear “Yousef! Wsh ili jabk?? What r u doing here?” Zaina began to bite on her lower lip.

Usually, Zaina would have her “dance music” playlist on full blast while she sat there thinking. She replayed old routines & came up with new routines in her head, but today, all she wanted to do was play old videos of her old routines. The ones she films when she wanted to perfect them and needed to see how they were looking.

You dance. You dance marvelously! Why are you watching this here? Alone? This shouldn’t be kept from the world! It’s too beautiful!! You’re beautiful! Do you still dance?” Yousef had to many questions and didn’t know where to start from, he just began throwing them at her. “Hahaha, calm down, you’re attacking me with questions. You’re over reacting. It’s nothing. What are YOU doing her!

Zaina was trying so hard to change the subject. It was apparent that she didn’t want to answer any of Yousef’s questions and she was obviously uncomfortable but Yousef ignored the discomfort and focused on her eyes instead. Zaina’s eyes where trying to hide a story, something she obliviously didn’t want exposed, especially to Yousef. “Yait a36ech awrag, maknt agdar a2ajl la2na ra7 t7tajainhum fa glt I pass by and drop them off myself. Stop changing the subject. Ma jawbtay 3al as2tle, you dance??

As Yousef repeated his question again, Zaina turned her gaze looking across the room, down to the floor and then back up and looked at Yousef again while still biting her lower lip and fiddling with her phone that was in her hand. “I used to dance…… What papers?

Yousef couldn’t understand. What does “used to mean”? No one knows why Zaina doesn't dance anymore. As far as everyone is concerned she used to dance. It’s all in the past. Everyone who knew how great of a dancer she was, never understood why she refuses to dance anymore. They don’t understand how she could throw away such a talent.

Used to? What does that mean? Shma3na kntay. Mn ili shfta, dance shouldn’t be your past. Papers that have to do with the qa’6eya” Yousef was persistent. He couldn’t let the subject go. He was insisting on knowing. Why would she give up something that made her glow! Something she clearly loves and is a part of who she is.

It doesn’t mean anything.

As they both walked side to side towards the doors he could smell her scent. She had her dior hypnotic poison perfume on indeed it was slowly hypnotizing him, he couldn’t keep his eyes of her. "You shouldn't be working on a weekend, its unhealthy, you need time off to rest..." Yousef couldn't believe his ears "May9er ketha 24 sa3a bs 7a6 kl 6agtek bl shu'3l..." Is Zaina just trying to make conversation or does she really mean it? Yousef couldn't help but wonder if she really is concerned about him or is it just one of this things people say during conversations. "Eee walla adre bs shswe, 3laiy wayd shu'3l w mu mla7g, mako a7ad '3airy ga3d ysht'3l 3ala hal 8athaya..." Zaina was not really looking at him, she was looking through her bag for the papers she has to give him and was talking to him at the same time. Yousef stood there with his arms crossed across his chest. He was watching her.

He couldn't help but notice those subtle movements that other people would over look. Small
movements like when she runs her fingers into her hair to pull it back or when she places the tip of her fingers on her lips as she is thinking and wondering where the papers are. All Yousef wanted was more time with her. Weekends would be even better if she was there. Breakfast would be tastier and more satisfying if he had her sitting right there across the table from him as he had his coffee.
When Zaina found the papers she walked up to with a smirk on her face and a glow to her eyes and put out the papers in front of him for him to take. As Yousef reached out to grab them she suddenly pulled them away and looked him the eye "One more thing..." Yousef looked at her and raised one eyebrow in question "Check your phone...."

Zaina gave him the papers as she suddenly began to blush as Yousef was staring at her with the widest grin plastered on his face. She turned around and began walking while Yousef just stood there looking at her. Right before she reached the door she turned around to face him but still continued to walk backwards "You better not make me regret my decision estath Yousef...." and with the she turned around again and stepped out of the door back into the garden.
----------

A week passed and Yousef still couldn’t believe that he was actually chatting with Zaina. It felt surreal. They would spend all day chatting, about anything and everything, work, outings, friends, family, likes dislikes, they just got to know each other more without having any strings attached. Yousef loved what he was learning. He tried his best to conceal what he was feeling worried about scaring her or pushing her away. Especially when he has no idea what she thinks of this. Sometimes he gets so close to just asking her point blank but then again he knows its wrong and he knows she’s not that type of girl.

Yousef came back from work late that day and was extremely tired. His naps were usually about 2 hours but on that day particularly it was no less than 4 hours.

Zaina: Stop being lazy and GET UP! You had your nap and I think it was the longest ‘nap’ on earth. Some people consider this a whole nights sleep!!!
Yousef: ma7ad fekm 7as feeni! Walla ta3ban! Ma yamdeni arta7 la during the week wla weekend! Omi just walked in 6 times in the past 20 mins just to wake me up!
Zaina: Ya bcz u said u have work to do & stuff to finish that’s y everyone is waking u up!
Zaina: Yalla ma3laih, get up & finish ur work & take a break this weekend.
Zaina: I know ur going to say “I can’t! Mno bswe ilshu’3l 3ane!” But this times its going to be an order & not a suggestion.
Yousef: An order haa?? Laish 5ayfa 3laiy?? *thinking face*
Zaina: Yousef…
Yousef: Halllaaaa…
Zaina: if you don’t get up now I’ll make Reem come to your room and shower you with a jug of ice cold water :)
Yousef: Mn wain yebtay this evil idea! Magdar agool shay ‘3air ina bngoom ‘3a9bn 3laiy la2na adre fech etswenha

Zaina never fails to make him smile even when it’s not the answer he wants. The unfamiliar feeling kept growing inside of him. He felt like with every hour that passed he wanted them to grow closer and closer. Yousef pushed the thought of Zaina aside and quickly got out of bed before his mind took him to places as the thought Zaina and how wonderful she is continues to expand in his head.

As Yousef walked down the stairs, he couldn’t help but feel jump and energetic as he skipped a few steps and was humming some song along the way. “Waaaay Yousef! Mab’3ait etgoom! Walla 3lait galbe w 3awart rase ma3ak! Allah y3en murtk ma3ak itha chthe btswe feha 3shan etgom!” His mother had a very concerned look on her face. “Yummaa allah ysam7ech! Mno galch ra7 aswe chthe eb murte!!” Yousef couldn’t help but start laughing at her. “Eeee mu bs ana ili tbon et3awron galbe! Bs omkum!” Yousef walked over to where she was sitting and kissed the crown of her head “Ma3ash mn 3awar galbch yal ‘3alya! Ga3da at’3ashmar m3ach walla! Mag9rtay ma3anna…” Yousef’s mom couldn’t stay mad at her children for long. After all, they are who she lives for. “3ayrtek bs!!! Wain btro7 al7en? 3ndk shu’3l 7g hal 8athaya ili mat5al9!

   Eee walla 3nde cham shay, broo7 age6 awrag bait 5alte 7g Zaina w ba3dain bro7 ag3ad ma3a wa7d m7taj shway cham ma3loma mna 3an 8atheya tawne mstlemha w 3ugbha ymkn aro7 ildewaneya shway mn zman mu raye7… t2amreeni 3ala shay?” His mother gave him a reassuring smile as she nodded no “Bs salem 3ala bait 5altek w deer balk 3ala nafsek..

Inshala yumma yo9al..” He kissed the crown of her head one more time before heading out. As he walked out and towards his car he couldn’t help but imagine the look on Zaina’s face when she sees him at her place. Will she be happy or surprised or upset that he didn’t tell her?

He didn’t tell her that he was going to drop some papers by because he knew she would come up with any excuse just so he doesn’t drop by and honestly speaking, Yousef wanted to do this. He wanted to go see her out of working hours. Their only encounters were either at work or at family gatherings. He wanted to see the casual at home Zaina and he wasn’t going to deny how much he has missed her and wanted to see her. He hadn’t seen her in a while and was ecstatic when he finally found a reason that he could do so.

The whole ride to Zaina’s house he was singing along with every song that was played by his ipod that he had plugged in. He was smiling and his eyes were sparkling. About 20 minutes later he was right outside his aunts house and parked the car. He switched off his car engine, grabbed the papers from the passenger seat, got out of the car and locked it.

He made his way up to the main door and rang the bell. As he waited for the door to be opened, he checked his telephone to see if there is anything important but before he could check anything the door was opened and the nanny let him in.

Salam, shlonech lisa? Where is Zaina? Is she at home?” The nanny knew Yousef from family gatherings. “Good sir, how are you? Yes she is at home, in the basement. Everyday at this time she go to the basement for 2 or 3 hours.” Lisa was very nice, she was old but not extremely old. She was with their family for a very long time and practically watched Zaina grow. “Oh ok, is it ok if I go down?” He wasn’t sure if it was ok or not since he never knew Zaina spent hours in the basement everyday. He didn’t know what she would be doing. “Yes yes ofcourse you can go!

"Hi Zaina..." That grin of his was still plastered on his face. "Hi Yousef... ummm lazm aroo7 knt  i was watching Lulu madre wain ra7at..." She tried to squeeze past him but it was impossible. His large figure was blocking the doorway so she stepped back and gave him a look. But of course, why would he move? "Yousef, please lazm arja3 3nd il7areem mab'3a a7ad ydawr 3laiy w ylgany hna m3ak.."

Yousef completely ignored what she was asking for "Laish you didn't accept my request, i know you've seen it cause you've had your phone with you all night fa laish ma swaitay accept.?" Zaina wanted to kill herself for being put in that position. She didn't think he would have the audacity to ask her like that. "I didn't know if i should, mako sbab y5aleni i accept il request...." She decided to be as forward as he was. "There are plenty of reason w awal sbab ina e7na 3yal 5ala.. we're family. Eb t8n3eeni ina ma3ndech family guys on your bbm??"

Zaina looked to the side trying to avoid his eyes and bit on her lower lip. This time Yousef knew for sure that it was a nervous habit. "ma3nde a7ad that acts like he has split personalities.. fa please momken tatrekni w t5aleni a6la3..." Before Yousef moved her reached over by the sink. Zaina was confused with what he was doing until she looked over her shoulder to see him picking up her blackberry and grabbing onto it. All Zaina could think of was Please don't open it and press accept Please Please Please. But to her surprise he didn't do that. He handing over her phone and all he said was "Im sorry, please accept my request....you won't regret it, I promise...."

Zaina took her phone and look up at him for a few seconds "Promise is a big word... Don't know if you'll be up keeping that promised." As Zaina stepped out of the doorway Yousef quicklu just threw in "Don't underestimate me, I can keep my word...."
--------------------------

For the rest of the night, Zaina enjoyed herself. She tried to act carefree and pretend that what happened earlier didn't get to her, that Yousef has no affect on her. Of course that was far from the truth but she tried her best to believe it and act upon it. Yousef on the other hand was growing impatient. He watched Zaina as she laughed, chatted, smiled and interacted with everyone. He spent the rest of the night just looking at her every move. Everything seemed like it was in slow motion. Her laughter, her talking, her smiles, her nods, everything.

Zaina knew Yousef was watching her like a hawk but tried to ignore it and not pay too much attention to the fact that she can't relax because her every move was being watched and studied. Yousef wanted to find a way to just tell her what he wants or needs but he himself had to idea what these emotions and feelings that are running through him meant. Yousef was in a new place, somewhere he was never been before. A place he was unfamiliar with. She is making him feel things he does not understand and he needs her to figure this out. He didn't want her to see how this is effecting him and how it has been confusing him to a point where he is becoming frustrated as time goes by. Why wasn't she accepting his friend request?

Soon enough, the night was over and there was nothing more Yousef could say or do. It felt like she was slowly slipping away from him. The second Zaina stepped out, she felt like she could breathe whereas Yousef felt like someone was squeezing his rib cage and he couldn't breathe easily. He couldn't feel at ease. A million thoughts were running through his head, partly trying to understand himself and partly trying to understand Zaina and her actions. Yousef was trying to figure out what all these new feelings meant and at the same time he was trying to be discrete and not show Zaina that he is insisting and pushing her to do something she doesn't want to do.

A few days went by and there was no since of Zaina. The closest Yousef could get to her was through his thoughts and day dreaming. He was falling for her, and falling hard. Nothing out there would cushion his fall and he could see the result of this coming. It certainly wasn't going to be a good one.

As much as he didn't want to admit, he was starting to really believe that there was no chance of Zaina accepting his request, much less to give him a second chance. However, on an early Friday morning he woke to the best thing he could have ever wished for.

Nour, his eldest sister, went into his room to wake him for family breakfast. It was a family tradition for many years. Every Friday morning, everyone would gather around the table and the meal they all look forward to throughout the week. The house would be filled with laughter, love and chatter. Anyone was welcome. Friday morning, their home was an open house for anyone who wanted to join .

"Yousef...Yousef...Ywaiissef!! yalla goom shof esa3a cham! ba3ad 5 dgayg b76on ilroug tadre baba may7b a7ad yt25r 3ala ilryoog ilyoum!" Yousef tossed over to the side as Nour did her very annoying routine of getting her brother out of bed. She opened the curtains and let the sun shine in onto Yousef's face. "oofffff laish lazm ilwa7d ygoom embacher eb hal bait 7tan lama ykon weekend! walla ta3aban!!"

"ta3bana mu ta3ban kaifek 3ad, inta tadre kl ym3a il ryoog ihne fa yalla goom w enzl lat5ale baba yz3al..." Nour was making her way out his room when she was called back by Yousef "Fe a7ad ta7at? lazm albs 3adl wla 6af?" Nour looked at her brothers extremely tired face and decided that they should cut him some slack especially sinces he's been working so hard at the firm lately. "La 3ade 6af bs yalla goom!!"

Walking down the stairs, Yousef already could hear the chatter and laughter of everyone on this lovely morning. Surprisingly no one was on the dining table and instead, breakfast was in the garden today. Yousef didn't bother putting on his hoodie since it wasn't even that cold at this time of year. The weather was breezy and beautiful throughout the day.

"9ba7 il5aiiiir! ashof klman mstans eb hal jaw!" Yousef stepped out in the sun and squinted his eyes not seeing anything, they were practically almost shut as he was waiting for his eyes to adjust to the light, especially since he had just woken up. "Eee w 6ab3an inta 7tan mafakrt talbs 3adl!" Everyone was giggling at the way he looked. He didn't bother to dress up appropriately. He was wearing plaid woven polo shorts and a plain grey shirt with bright blue A&F flip flops.  nothing from what he was wearing remotely matched. "Shaklha enkasrt ilmraya ili eb '3urfta magdar y6al3 shakla bl mraya!"

Yousef's head snapped up and his eyes were all of a sudden wide open as he looked at everyone and everything. As all the people around the table laughed loudly at that particular comment Yousef stared at one person in particular. The person who made the comment.

"W ana shdrane ina fe nas 3ndna! il anesa Nour nsat etgwle...." He gave his sister the death stare "Ee mu glt ina o5oy ra7 ygwm ybadl w mara7 yanzl shakla chtheee!" Everyone continued their laughter and chatter as Yousef took his seat on the far left. Zaina was siting across the table on the far right. He was surprised to see her  there. Afterall, he was beginning to believe that he might not see her for a very long time. His father was sitting at the head of the table with his wife on his right. Reem and Noura sat next to their mother and Zaina on the end. On his side of the table, He sat in front of his mother with his aunt next to him and an empty seat was next them but there was a plate with left overs on it.

Today was different. Zaina was herself, she wasn't uncomfortable or feeling out of place. In fact she was the exact opposite. She was the Zaina he first saw and knew. The down to earth happy Zaina. She was glowing, the sun was shining because Zaina was outside. Even the sun couldn't stop itself from coming out to look at all this beauty.

Yousef was surprised at the fact that Zaina was acting normal around him. She would speak to him, smile at him, ask him stuff. He was taken aback from her sudden change. Was she planning a come back? Was she going to do something as payback? Or is she really just being her again? As worried as Yousef was he just pushed all his thoughts aside and enjoyed this lovely morning. Things couldn't be any better.

The morning was going smoothly, everyone enjoying the food, the weather and the amazing atmosphere. Yousef didn't want to leave to his office to get on with some of his work. He hasn't enjoyed time with his family as much as he had today. It's been a while since he woke up in the weekend and enjoyed a lovely morning. The cases he had were piling up. He was spending at least 11 hours in the office for the past 4 weeks or so. He would get into work at 7 in morning and wouldn't leave before 6 pm. He had things from sorting out files and papers to preparing for 2 or 3 court meetings on the same day. He barely had time to breath. The rest of the day would consist of him going home, having a bit to eat, spending an hour or so with his family, taking a shower and them off to bed he goes.

Just as Yousef got up and excused himself and was about to walk back inside he was called back. "Ummm.. Yousef please momken dgega mn waktek, jayba shwyat awrag Rasha kanat 6alba ajeebhum ma3y 3shan a36ek. Galat inu nag9enk 7g ilqatheya..." Yousef couldn't remember what papers were missing, but then again he has so many cases he has to take care of at the same time that he loses track of what he has and what he doesn't "Ay awrag? walla ma athker shno nag9eni mn kther ilqathaya ili 3nde, bs ok mu mushkila 3a6eenyahm w ana ra7 astaw3b 7g shno hathaila."

Zaina smiled at him and got up. The suns rays hit her face and shone into her eyes lighting them up. They were beautiful. They were twinkling in the sun. Her long dark brown hair was shining. It was so luscious that he just wanted to reach out and stroke to see whether or not it is as smooth as shiny as it appears to be.

The movements of her getting up and walking over to him were all in slow motion. She was gliding across the floor. He steps were even and small. Her body was tall, her neck extended. She had confidence in her walk. Not the kind of confidence that would turn you off but the kind that is alluring to men, the power she has mesmerizes them yet she can still make them fell that she was the most down to earth woman they would ever meet. Her personality is another thing that Yousef is attracted to, her down to earth personality. It is very rare to find a woman nowadays that has that quality. Most of them can be to arrogant, self centered, or think that they are the most beautiful in the whole wide universe. But with Zaina, its the exact opposite. Sometimes Yousef wonders if she actually knows how beautiful she is. Its seem as if she doesn't know the elegance and beauty she has because she is so down to earth and realistic.

"ilawrag juwa, tb'3any ajebhum lek wla tejy ma3ay ta5th'hum?" Zaina stood so close to him. She stood right in front of him as he pointed towards the toward waiting for his reply. He looked her in the eye trying to understand her sudden change but he couldn't read them. "La yalla ana aye ma3ach da5el, asasn ana 9a3d abadl wray shu'3l bl maktab..."

Small

It's been a while since he woke in the weekend and enjoyed a lovely morning.

Just as Yousef got up and excused himself and was about to walk back inside he was called back. "Ummm.. Yousef please momken dgega mn waktek, jayba shwyat awrag Rasha kanat 6alba ajeebhum ma3y 3shan a36ek. Galat inu nag9enk 7g ilqatheya..." Yousef couldn't remember what papers were missing, but then again he has so many cases he has to take care of at the same time that he looses track of what he has and what he doesn't "Ay awrag? walla ma athker shno nag9eni mn kther ilqathaya ili 3nde, bs ok mu mushkila 3a6eenyahm w ana ra7 astaw3b 7g shno hathaila.

Not the kind of confidence that would you off but the kind that actually lures you in and makes you believe that she is the most powerful and down to earth woman you could every come across.

As they both walked side to side towards the doors he could smell her scent. She had her dior hypnotic poison perfume on indeed it was slowly hypnotizing him, he could keep his eyes of her.

"Eee walla adre bs shswe, 3laiy wayd shu'3l w mu mla7g, mako a7ad '3airy ga3d ysht'3l 3ala hal 8athaya..." Zaina was not really looking at him, she was looking through her bag for the papers she has to give him and was talking to him at the same time. Yousef stood there with his arms crossed across his chest.
